National Park Flyer
School Project — 2024
This school project was a travel flyer for Yellowstone National Park. At the time, I was still new to InDesign and had primarily learned Photoshop in my classes, so I designed the flyer in Photoshop instead. While this limited some layout options, it gave me a chance to experiment with type, imagery, and composition in a program I was more familiar with.
Skills & Tools Used
• Adobe Photoshop (full layout and design)
• Image Editing & Artistic Filters
• Framing & Composition Techniques
• Clipping Masks & Blending Modes
Reflection
This project taught me how design choices influence mood and atmosphere, but also showed me the importance of using the right tools. If I revisited it, I would:
• Reduce the heavy “paint” filter on the photos for clearer, higher-quality imagery.
• Rebuild the layout in InDesign for sharper resolution and better text control.
• Decrease the size of the social media icons for readability.
• Change the typography, especially the thin fonts for stronger legibility.
Overall, it was a valuable early project that strengthened my eye for composition, theme, and visual consistency.
