What Are Fonts?
School Project — 2025
This project was one of my first larger assignments using Adobe InDesign. I created a multi-page informative PDF about typography, which included a custom logo designed in Illustrator, consistent use of paragraph and character styles, and a two-column layout for each page. To keep the design structured, many images were formatted to uniform sizes, with some outlined by strokes for emphasis. Each major section was introduced with its own title page, helping divide the document into clear, digestible parts.
Skills & Tools Used
• Adobe InDesign – multi-page formatting, paragraph/character styles, and two-column layout
• Adobe Illustrator – logo design
• Typography & Font Pairing
• Consistency in image formatting and alignment
• Section title page design
• Use of strokes and layout elements for visual balance
Reflection
This project gave me valuable practice in long-form layout design and developing consistent formatting with styles in InDesign. If I revisited the project, I would:
• Refine the overall format so that images align more cleanly and avoid a clunky appearance.
• Redesign the section title pages for stronger visual impact.
• Replace the thin font on the cover page with a bolder, more legible option.
• Add a translucent divider line between columns to improve readability and separation.
Overall, this project strengthened my confidence in structuring multi-page documents and using design consistency to create a polished, professional look.
